Since hitting shelves on Tuesday, Techland’s zombie-basher Dead Island has provided an object lesson in how not to release a video game. First there was the amusing, embarassing revelation that the company had accidentally released an Xbox 360 dev-kit instead of the real game. Next, an eagle-eyed purchaser found an triggerable ability called “Feminist Whore” buried deep in the game’s unfinished code.
Like most debates about video games (and most debates about feminism, for that matter) the reaction to this controversy has been mind-numbingly stupid. Since both sides are digging in their heels, we thought this new installment of Re-Dubz (embedded below) would be a good way to put them both in their places.
