Minneapolis-based beauty brand Aveda has just released a preview image from its Fall 2011 campaign for its hair and makeup collection, "Jewels of the Earth," and it's stunning:
From the press release:
Awash in intense and tarnished shades of blue, green, gold and bronze, this collection perfectly mirrors many of the rich, gemstone inspired collections we have seen for A/W 2011.
The collection comprises of six limited edition Petal Essence Single Eye Colours, one limited-edition Nourish-Mint Sheer Mineral Lip Colour and two limited-edition Nourish-Mint Smoothing Lip Colours. Burnished monochromes in smoky and gleaming finishes induce interplay of light and dark alongside the sumptuous, jewel tones featured in the collection.
“Jewels of the Earth is a palette of rich, intense tones” says Global Educator for Aveda Makeup, Janell Geason. “Metallic velvety-dark colours reflect death and nocturnal elegance. The look suggests a somber, antique and artistic mood, and the notion of old becoming new.”
The Aveda Jewels of the Earth Collection is available from the 1st of September 2011 in Aveda salons, spas, stores and online at www.aveda.co.uk
Watch for the full lookbook, concepted by Aveda graphic designer (and former art director for MNfashion, Voltage and l'étoile magazine) Chris Larson, to come soon.
